| I'm Tax Deductible... |
I work as a consultant, mainly writing software for clients. According to a Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling, I am now considered, and should have always been considered to be tax deductible. That is to say that companies in Wisconsin were paying too much on state taxes for work that I and my colleagues have performed. The ruling includes back taxes paid incorrectly to the state that must be paid back. Great for us, lousy for them.
So now I have one more reason to give to clients for why they need to have me write software for them. Actually work has been plentiful as of late. There is a very high demand for senior software consultants and very low supply. I keep getting calls asking if I'm available. I love what I do. So now I need to teach my kids how to write software so I can start putting them to work.
